What is more powerful than a story?
Everybody has a story, but not everyone has a testimony.
A story is what happens to you; but a testimony is what happens in and through you!
In the Christian context, it is what God has done for you!
Every genuine disciple of Jesus Christ has a testimony-about how God changed us, saved us, and is using us. I dare to question if a person is “saved” apart from having a personal testimony.
One of my life verses is Psalm 40:5:
Many, Lord my God,
are the wonders you have done,
the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
they would be too many to declare.
The passage above talks about God’s “too many” wonders in the psalmist’s life. I believe that should be the norm in every believer’s life.
The struggle then is not a lack of testimony to share; but which one to share! Where to start, since there are soooo many?
You cannot give what you do not have. Biblical faith starts by receiving, and out of what we received, we give away!
Salvation then is not an end in itself, but simply the start of a life too wonderful to declare one by one!
