Another technique or method that have greatly improved my prayer life are the “disciplines.”

Discipline, as used here, refer to “practices”, or “habits”, and not used in the punitive sense.

I first came across them through Richard Foster’s classic book “The Celebration of Discipline” and later on, reading the works of the late, great Dallas Willard. Continue reading

I disappoint myself. A lot.

I am a husband, a father, a pastor, and a teacher. Most of all, a child of God. I take all these responsibilities seriously.

It has been quoted, ‘’the Christian life is not hard, it is impossible….apart from the grace and power of the Holy Spirit.’’

Prayer is the link between the natural and the supernatural, the bridge that connects heaven and earth, the conduit from my weakness to tapping into God’s strength.

Yet if I have a weakness in my life, a chink in my armor, it is in the area of prayer. Thus, the disappointment. Continue reading
